Family & Optional Services

For your convenience, Brouillette Manor offers a selection of optional unfunded services that are meant to not only maintain the quality of life, but also improve it. Payment for some of these services can be made from the resident trust account, if such account was open upon admission, and included on the monthly statement. Example of unfunded services are as follows:

Hairdressing

Done by our hairstylist in our on-site beauty salon with both men and women welcome to utilize the haircare services

Telephone and TV

Cogeco cable and phone services are conveniently available in each room. Residents that would like these installed can arrange this with the service provider directly. Payment for this service is the family’s responsibility

Dental Hygiene

Assessments and treatments can be conducted on site through Samaritan Seniors Dental who will provide these services to our residents if requested.

Foot care

Appointments can be scheduled to have on-site footcare done. Our staff are happy to provide you with contact information for Crystal’s Foot Care that currently services our home.

Pharmacy

Services are provided by CareRx Pharmacy, a division of Centric Health. Most medications are covered by Ontario’s drug benefit program although the odd medication may not be. The contact information for CareRx can be found on our “Useful Resources” page.

Transportation Services

Are available and may be arranged by the resident with the assistance of the home. On admission, our Activation Department will send an application to the Municipality, for the resident to be able to use the Handi-transit service in Tecumseh, if needed.  This transportation service is available for individuals with mobility issues.  The Resident will be required to pay a nominal fee; however they are able to bring someone to assist them at no additional charge.  There are also a variety of alternatives that can be explored for transportation needs for either wheelchair accessible or stretcher accessible appointments. The Registered Staff can provide a complete list of options.

Clothing

All Residents should have an adequate supply of clothing.  We recommend at least seven changes of clothing.  Clothing is available to purchase at the home different times throughout the year.  For instance, Geri-Fashions will visit and display their clothing.  This company provides a wide selection of easy care clothing for men and women, as well as wheel-chair adaptive clothing and accessories.  Dates of their visits will be posted for everyone to see.

Mobility Equipment

This service is available through the appropriate vendor as arranged by the Activation Department. During their visits they will make various adjustments or repairs to wheelchairs and walkers, as requested by the Staff, Resident and/or their substitute decision maker.

Visitor Meals

Family or friends wishing to share a meal with a resident may do so for a nominal fee.  This can be arranged by contacting the Food Service and Nutrition Manager in advance, so arrangements can be made

The visiting hours at Brouillette Manor are 8am-8pm daily.
